TRINIDAD

A small town with actual 36 000 inhabitants which was found, together with Havana and the other 4 towns, in 1513 by Diego Velasques got fabulously rich owing to the cane sugar trade. Today, it belongs to the most beautiful Cuban towns and since 1989 it has became a treasure of the world cultural heritage. The dominant feature of the town, and its highest building is the Convento San Francisco (a former monastery of St. Francis of Assisi) and nowaday there is the Museum of Revolution... Nearly all of the historical sightseeings if colonial Trinidad are situated close to the main square The Plaza Mayor and it is possible to visit them within dwo hours. However, the neighbourhood of the Plaza Mayor lives even in the night. For those who love the Cuban colour and music, we kindly advise the night visit of nearby Casa de la Musica or Casa de la Tróva.

Trinidad - Valle de los Ingenios (Sugarmills Valley)

Not so far from Trinidad there is a fabled Valle de los Ingenios – The Valley of Sugar Mills. Around this valley it used to extend the boundless cane plantations and the slave village San Pedro. There has been retained a high watchtower where it is possible to step up and make a true imagination, how it could look like in the past.
