Do I need any visa for my journey to Cuba?
Yes, it is necessary to have the visa. Visa is a card put into the passport. It consists of two parts. One of them is withdrawn by the officer after the arrival to Cuba, and the second one before the departure. The visas are possible to acquire at the Cuban embassy (750 CZK) or our company can purvey them for you by corresponding (800 CZK). For the embassy arrangement, you need a passport valid at least 6 weeks after the finishing your vacation. At our company, it is enough to have a scaned or copied double-page of the passport (i.e. the page where is your name and image)
How is the currency in Cuba?
There are used dvo currencies in Cuba : the Cuban peso (CUP) and the Cuban converitable peso (CUC). Something like the crowns and the German bons in the Czech Republic in the past. For the CUP- usual peso, you can shop, diplomatically said, very simply- nothing for someone untought the socialistic standards. You can find only the basic choice and, in addition, not everywhere and not a highest quality. On the other hand, for the converitable peso you can buy almost everything you want. It is without any problems to exchange euro, but there are some problems with exchanging the dollars, and cou can pay 10 per cent extra. The unearned CUCs you can exchange back to the euro before your departure. Approximate course: 1 CUC= 1,19 EUR
Can I use the credit cards in Cuba?
In the big cities there is no problem to use the credit cards both in hotels and taking the money from the cash machines. But the cash machines works only sometimes, not always, and the MASTERCARD and the EUROCARD didn´t work almost everytime.
Do the cell phones work in Cuba?
Yes, all of the domestic operators have a roaming partner. A net-work is, excepting the distant areas, everywhere.
Can I speak English or should I speak only Spanish?
The whole staff working in tourism (hotes, guides etc.) can speak English. But if you want to travel individually, it is better to speak at least little bit Spanish.
